Basil Egli is an MPhil student in History at Hertford College. Basil is currently formulating his dissertation within the bounds of early modern Roman cuisine and dining habits. Generally, he focuses on daily life, food, and humoral theory in 15th and 16th century Rome and Florence.
Before coming to Oxford, Basil received his B.A. in History and French and Italian from the University of Chicago in 2024. He previously studied Studio Art at the Marchutz School in Aix between 2019 and 2020.
