I am a DPhil student at University College, Oxford. My primary interests lie in the interconnected political, cultural, and intellectual history of Early Modern Europe, with particular attention to Italy. I focus on sixteenth-century diplomacy and the role of conspiracies more generally. My doctoral thesis combines these interests by analysing the spread of foreign promoted political conspiracies within mid-sixteenth-century Italy as a tool for geopolitical change. More specifically, I am fascinated by the intersection of popular politics and diplomacy, and the attempts made to persuade local populations to support regime change. However, I am also interested in the changing nature of European diplomacy with regards to Italian States before and after the sixteenth century.
